I am grateful to be Costa Rican, and I always thankful for being given the chance to share such an amazing life full of beautiful colors, nature and epic waves. Things happen for a reason and through Del Mar surf camp myself and my friends are able to make dreams come true.  My life is filled with love and unforgettable moments that give me the desire to introduce my country to more chicas and enjoy every second of my life as if it is the last. Pura Vida!!

The moment I came to Nosara for the first time 5 years ago, I knew this was the place for me. Two years later I was living here full time and working as a hotel manager. Nosara slowly changed my way of thinking, my spirit, my body and my life. Slowly, I became aware of the more simple but more important everyday things. Slowly, I became healthier and shed the destructive habits of the normal city life. Living in a secluded place helped me learn to go with the flow and lead a less stressful life. Surfing teaches me every day the magnificence of the ocean and nature overall!

The surf camp is my opportunity to share with others this lifestyle that gives me so much happiness day after day! Nosara has a magic energy that draws people from all over the world, I can't wait to be with you as you experience it for yourself!

Being part of  Del Mar has truly changed my life. Through the camp and all the activities, I’ve been able to rediscover my country and all the beauty it has to offer. As surf camp assistant, my job is to guide you through  the program, show you the area and Costa Rica’s culture and history.

Hermosa Surf Coordinator

Our surf coordinator is from Puerto Viejo on the Caribbean coast and has 20 years of surfing experience. He loves sharing his passion and knowledge for the ocean, environment and the rich culture that Costa Rica has to offer. 

Patient and informative, with a great understanding of the ocean…He’s also an excellent surfer and a very skillful instructor, whose love of the sport and desire to share it with others can only be described as infectious…in the water with him you immediately feel safe, confident and totally surf stoked!... Always ready to ride waves and have fun. Sharing his energy is certain to be long lasting EXPERIENCE.

Hermosa Surf Instructor

Born and raise in Jaco. Alonso is a talented local surfer who has been building a name around the national circuit for several years now. As Ismael’s protégé, he has been able to transmit that confident, safe feeling while in the water and at the same time making it fun.

Nosara Surf Instructor

Oscar is a native of the Guanacaste area, with several years of surfing experience in Guiones. He is patient and personable, and will make sure that your surfing experience is fun and positive. He has a great love for surfing as a sport and constantly working to improve his level and technique.

Luis Diego

Nosara Surf Instructor

Luis Diego is originally from Alajuela but has been living in Guiones for three years. With over 17 years of surfing experience, Luis Diego is not only a great instructor but will also astound you with his bold tricks on the waves!
